Looker and Friends of the Urban Forest

We’ve been working with Friends of the Urban Forest to help them visualize their San Francisco tree data. We decided to check out a data viz tool called Looker. This tool gives you a quick look into data with simple queries and dashboards. While limitations exist for more complex visualizations, as an initial data exploration tool, Looker let us get into the data quickly.

Here’s a look at a dashboard based off of data from SF Open Data Street Trees. This one shows tree density in San Francisco as of the 2010 census.

Looker does look pretty interesting, are you able to share the dashboard you created using the SF Street Tree dataset?
